Mr Black
Mr. Black is a veteran DJ and producer, with a career spanning over 37 years. He has achieved remarkable success, holding residencies across the country and hosting nights at prestigious clubs in London such as Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, Pacha, and The Cross. His talent has taken him on multiple tours of Ibiza, where he has performed at renowned venues like Es Paradis, Eden, and Plastik.
In addition to his DJing prowess, Mr. Black has founded and run record labels, and has remixed tracks for notable artists such as Charli XCX, Terry Farley, Angie Brown, and Jon Pleased Wimmin.
Mr. Black’s DJ career began at the young age of 12, and over the years he has played a variety of music styles. Starting out in hip hop in 1988, he transitioned to acid house, rave, jungle, and club classics throughout the 90s and 2000s. Recently, he has been focusing on the tech house, techno, and nu-disco/house resurgence with his Nu-Chic Brand, while also getting back to his roots in recording and producing breaks which is his biggest passion, under his alias Under R8D. Currently, you can also catch Mr Black hosting a weekly show on Cyndicut Radio every Thursday from 8-10pm.
As a prolific producer and remixer, Mr. Black has created remixes for artists such as Charli XCX, Angie Brown, Sonny Wharton, Matt Bianco, Terry Farley, and Jon Pleased Wimmin. His own productions as Mr. Black and with his studio partner Robberto, as well as his aliases EssBee and Under R8D, have been signed to labels including Sonny Wharton’s Whartone Records, Brandon Block’s Bloxbox Records, Mario Ochoa’s Avenue Records, DJ Deekline’s Hardcore Energy, Kukushka, Neptuun City, Krafted Records, Atlantic Trax, Ravesta, and many more.
Mr Black’s tracks have received support from influential figures like Paul Oakenfold, Mark Knight, Sasha, Ferry Corsten, Celvin Fisher, Robert Owen, PHNTM, Dirty Secretz, Umek, Sonny Wharton, Mario Ochoa, Bastian Van Shield, Roger Sanchez, Brandon Block, and David Herrero, among others.

From the early 80’s to the present day he has always been there right in the middle of the latest musical genres to hit the club and party music scenes.
As a result, his music library is “just a bit large” and coming from the old school DJ fraternity you can be guaranteed that whether it’s a small bar, private function, corporate event or full on club night, his ability to switch from his customary tight mixing on the decks to his professional microphone delivery and back again is always a sure-fire winner with any crowd.
